In May 2023 Houbara Foundation assisted a survey led by Mr Vincent Lieron and a representative ex-IFHC in CBC, to determine presence of this rare species in Cholistan Desert. The teams jointly explored multiple sites in the CBC habitat, Marot, Mojgarh and Lal Sohanra. Following exhaustive efforts a pair was captured from Bahuwala Toba for further research and trials including the feasibility of breeding in Morocco and Kazakhstan.
